Mary Rowe Mundy

Mary Mundy is a founding board member and the Director of Outreach at Fostering Hope.

Mary is a retired Elementary Music teacher and has dedicated both her personal and professional life to helping children realize their value and importance in the world around them.

She has a Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY Potsdam, a Master’s of Music Education from West Chester University, additional post graduate studies from the University of the Arts and was a National Board Certified Teacher of Early and Middle Childhood Music. She also owned and operated a piano studio for eight years.

She and her husband Tom have two grown children and two grandchildren and a large Bernese Mountain Dog. Originally from New York, they have lived in Pennsylvania since 1988.

“My favorite quote that I used throughout my years of teaching was, ‘We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today’. My family has been wanting to get involved in the foster care community for several years, but, as happens in life, we had elderly parents to care for. Our responsibilities changed, but our desire to help children never did, so the opportunity to serve the most vulnerable children through Fostering Hope is a perfect fit.”
